When Ms. Garchinski found her SUV windshield cracked and garage door dented, she assumed it was vandalism. She filed a police report, but nothing happened for two weeks. Then Ms. Garchinski happened to watch a TV program about a bright fireball that lit up the night sky two weeks earlier. She called the University of Western Ontario, where professors verified the SUV damage was caused by a falling meteorite.
